GIVING BACK

We care about the communities we operate in and feel strongly about giving back to them. As part of this commitment, Silgan supports United Way as well as several other charities in our communities.

In addition to assisting charitable organizations, Silgan employees also participate in a variety of civic and social events. Whether it’s donating to the high school booster club or participating in their local blood drive, our employees across the United States proudly take a proactive role in their communities.

Below are a few of the many Silgan employees who selflessly give to a number of worthy causes.

Cheryl Gora

Manager of Salary Administration
Cheryl grew up in a family that had a tradition of giving back. She has been involved with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for 11 years, including its Family Sunday program, which encourages children’s free entry and participation in the museum. Nine years ago the Family Sunday program was started and she has been supporting this program since its inception. Children can participate in art workshops, they can go on family tours, and they can become members of the museum for free until they are 18 years old. It is the only museum that offers free youth membership and to date it has 120,000 children as members.

Guy Barger

Director of Production/Inventory
Guy has been an active long time supporter of the Guide Dogs of America. In 2013 he introduced Mitsu, a beautiful black lab GDA puppy-in-training, to Silgan’s staff.

Lewis Ase

Materials Application Engineer
Since 2009, Lewis has directed the Riverbank Cheese & Wine Run, a local running race in Riverbank, California. The run typically attracts 500 participates and has raised thousands of dollars for the Riverbank High School cross-country team, the Triumph Fitness Program (for cancer sufferers), the ShadowChase Running Club, and more.

Cree T. Cobb

Production Supervisor
Cree first started volunteering in 1991 while stationed in the Air Force, in Atwater, California. Over the years Cree has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank and Meals on Wheels, as well as flood clothing drives in the Czech Republic. Cree is currently a member of the Grizzly Peak Cyclists in Berkeley, California, where he annually assists with setup and lunch for over 1000 riders who participate in the Century Ride, a 100-mile bike ride that must be completed within 12 hours. He also spends his time volunteering for Bethany Lutheran, a local school.

Tracy A. Rosenbach

Financial Services Manager
Tracy does a lot of volunteer work with children, including volunteering every weekend as a teacher’s aide at St. Mel’s Church in Woodland Hills. Tracey is her daughter’s Girl Scout troop treasurer and also volunteers backstage at a local theater in Canoga Park.

Frank Masterman

Conversion Press Mechanic
Frank is the founder of the Rock River Sweep, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the health and ecosystem of the Rock River and its tributaries in northern Illinois and Wisconsin. In 2011 alone, the Sweep removed over 18,000 pounds of debris and more than 123 tires with its efforts.
