Our Customer Technical Services (CTS) Group consists of highly-trained individuals who conduct training classes to ensure that your staff understands the vital ins and outs of the canning process.


  • Provides background on manufacturing processes used by Silgan.
  • Includes discussion of why particular materials and technologies are used for various product applications.
  • Instruction time can vary from 4 hours, classroom only, to 1½ days with a combined classroom and plant tour format.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, June 12 , 2018 and continue through Thursday morning, June 13 noon.

All of the instruction at the Technology Center will be in the 2nd floor Training Room. Attendees should enter the Technology Center at the main door at the southeast corner of the building and sign in at the administrative assistant’s desk just inside that door. Each attendee will receive a “Visitor’s” badge and proceed up the stairs to the right to the Training Room.



  • Parking is available in front of the Technology Center to either the left or right of the main entrance
  • A training manual will be provided to each participant
  • Light, continental breakfast refreshments on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and lunch on Wednesday afternoon will be provided.
  • Attire is “business casual”
  • As the class will be within the Technology Center as well as visiting two plants, open-toed shoes or sandals should not be worn as those types of footwear are not allowed in certain areas of the Technology Center and also are not allowed within the plants
  • Cellular phones are allowed at the Technology Center, but phones, cameras or phone/camera combinations are not allowed during the tours of the Silgan plants
  • Protective eyewear and ear plugs are required during the plant tours and will be provided. Regular eyeglasses or your own protective glasses are suitable for the plant visits if you prefer. Similarly, your own earplugs are also acceptable should you have a preferred pair
