Health & Wellness*
MEDICAL AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE
Silgan offers multiple medical plans that allow employees to choose which plan best suits them and their family, both personally and financially. Prescription drug coverage allows our employees to obtain the medications they need.
Dental Insurance
Silgan offers two dental plans to choose from and both cover preventive services at 100%! Dental insurance is a must to protect teeth and gums.

The “Requirements Related to Surprise Billing; Part I,” is an interim final rule that will restrict excessive out of pocket costs to consumers from surprise billing and balance billing. Surprise billing happens when people unknowingly get care from providers that are outside of their health plan’s network and can happen for both emergency and non-emergency care. Balance billing, when a provider charges a patient the remainder of what their insurance does not pay, is currently prohibited in both Medicare and Medicaid. The Federal Government has finalized the “Transparency in Coverage” Rule, which requires health insurers and group health plans to provide cost-sharing data to consumers via machine-readable files. These files must offer pricing data for covered items and services based on in-network negotiated payment rates and historical out-of-network allowed amounts. Anthem, Silgan’s medical plan administrator, has provided a link to this information that will be active beginning July 1, 2022.Another aspect of these guidelines requires a consumer price transparency tool. This online tool will include personalized, real-time, cost-share estimates for covered services and items.These new transparency regulations were created to give access to information on the costs of healthcare services.
